Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Kemebradikumo Pondei, appears to have fainted while giving an account of his stewardship at the investigative panel of the House of Representatives Committee, probing the commission today, July 20th, 2020.
Pondei lost consciousness after he was unable to defend the N1.3 billion he approved to provide COVID-19 palliative for members of the Commission. He also could not defend the N640 million he approved to one clear point communications limited.
At the time he lost consciousness, he was being asked about the money meant for students on scholarship.
Pondei was quickly rushed out of Conference room 231, where the investigative hearing on illegal spending and mismanagement of funds held. He has been taken out for medical attention.
