Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has been declared winner of the Anambra State Governorship Election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The Returning Officer of the Anambra Governorship Election, Prof Florence Obi, announced the result Today, Wednesday, 10th November 2021 at the INEC office in Awka, Anambra State. She declared: “That Charles Chukwuma Soludo of APGA, having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected”.
Soludo, 61, was announced the winner after the election held in the Ihiala Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday, 9th November 2021, following INEC’s declaration of the 6th November 2021, election as inconclusive.
He won 19 of the 21 local government areas including Ihiala LGA, getting a total of 112,229 votes to defeat Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party.PDP, in second place, received 53,807 votes, Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress, APC, received 43,285 votes, while Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressive Party, YPP, finished fourth with 21,261 votes.
