MR MACARONI URGES FILMMAKERS TO NORMALIZE PAYING UP-AND-COMING TALENTS.

Popular Nigerian Comedian, Debo Adebayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has urged filmmakers in Nollywood to pay up-and-coming talents for the services they render, while also giving them the respect they deserve.

Mr Macaroni talked about this on a thread on Twitter where he also talked about difficulties he faced with producers in Nollywood when he started off his acting career.

He wrote: “I’m not asking anyone to be a rebel ooo.. lol. The industry is tough.. I know. But when I started acting, I had issues with quite a number of producers. It’s one thing not to pay me. I tolerated that one. But disrespect me?? Never!! I’ll give you my piece of mind and walk out”.

The comedian’s tweets come a few weeks after Twitter buzzed with reports that some producers in the \Nigerian movie industry exploit up coming talents, and some woulde pay screenwriters as low as N25,000 for scripts, while at other times,  con the upcoming talents with the promise of exposure.
