MUHAMMAD ATTA KAFIN-DANGI
Muhammad Atta Kafin-Dangi started his journalism career as a Translations Officer with Radio Nigeria Abuja National Station on 3rd March, 1986 under the News and Current Affairs Sub-Directorate. He was head of Hausa Translations Unit till 2001 when he was deployed to the editorial desk as Principal Editor.
As a thorough professional, he has headed all units under the News Sub-Directorate, Radio Nigeria Abuja Operations, including the Editorial, Reportorial and Current Affairs units. He was also head of News Kapital FM Abuja. On 29th November, 2019 he became the 6th General Manager of Kapital FM Abuja.
He is an internationally trained investigative journalist and has spent 33 years of his career specializing in covering stories on national development and grassroots development.
He covered the famous commercial motorcycle operators’ pretest in Gwagwalada Abuja, in 2015. In the course of dispensing his duty, he was attacked and molested by the police and this instantly made the story a national headline of human rights violation by security operatives. This was a career changing experience for him as he experienced firsthand the way the security agents manhandle innocent citizens under the guise of arresting violent protesters. This gave birth to a series of in-depth stories which featured him as a testimonial and also other investigative reports by other media houses on the rights of the media and ordinary citizens of Nigeria.
He is a multiple awards winner for his commitment and dedication to duty including the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Director-General’s Award 2007 and the Annual Canvasser’s Award for improving the Internally Generated Revenue, (IGR) of FRCN.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Islamic Studies from the National Open University of Nigeria, (NOUN) and a Diploma in Hausa from Katsina Polytechnic now Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic while his Secondary Education was at Government Technical College, Mashi, Katsina.
His hobby is getting the latest news across the globe via listening to radio and watching the media space on TV and online. He detests those who celebrate indolence, but however cherishes people that do the right thing at all times.
