Popular Nigerian musician, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid has changed his name on Instagram from “Wizkid” to “Big Wiz”.
Wizkid, born 16th July, 1990, appeared on the Nigerian entertainment scene when he released his song “Holla at Your Boy” on 2nd January 2010.
The multiple award winner achieved international recognition in 2016, following his collaboration with Canadian Singer, Drake on the global hit “One Dance“, which reached number one in 15 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.
Considering his age at the time he shot into the limelight, fans thought “WizKid” was an ideal name for the young singer, but as years rolled by, his fans started to suggest a name change, as he was said to have grown past being called a “kid”.
Without any formal announcement, Wizkid has however, changed his name to “Big Wiz” in the bio section of his Instagram handle, leaving his fans wondering; could it be a clue as to a future change in his name?
