The organizers of the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards have postponed the 2021 edition of the event, which was scheduled for January 31st, till March 2021, as a result of the increase in the spread of COVID-19 in Los Angeles USA.
The Grammy Awards is an annual award presented by the Recording Academy to recognize achievements in the music industry. The event which had already been planned on a limited show for 2021, without a live audience but allowing only presenters and performers on-site during the show was postponed as a result of the deteriorating COVID-19 situation in Los Angeles.
New Air Date For 2021 Grammys
A joint statement was made by HARVEY MASON JR, Chair & Interim president CEO of the Recording Academy; JACK SUSSMAN, the Executive vice president and BEN WINSTON, Grammy Awards Executive Producer.
“After thoughtful conversations with health experts, our host and artist scheduled to appear, we are rescheduling the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards to Sunday, March 14th 2021”.
The Recording Academy announced nominees in 83 categories for the 63rd Grammy Awards through live streaming on GRAMMY.COM for the first time ever on November 24th 2020.
